Golden Bear Equities, a forward-looking, multi-family real estate investment firm focused on acquiring high-quality, value-add properties across the western United States is hiring a part-time Financial Controller with demonstrated real estate accounting experience to manage all accounting & reporting functions. We currently manage $100M in assets and are growing! Our ideal candidate is a proven accounting leader who gets along well with their team, is strong with QuickBooks, is advanced with Excel, and has an impeccable eye for the details. This is a part-time, role with the potential to move to full-time in the near future and will best suit an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset.
The part-time Financial Controller is responsible for all accounting operations of the Company, among them:
- Create monthly financial statements
- Produce month-end financial reports
- Manage AR/AP
- Oversee balance sheets, fund dividends, cash management, reconciliation, etc.
- Accurately time and apply the proper revenue recognition rules
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures, accounting software and operations, making the necessary recommendations and, accordingly, modifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
As our ideal candidate, you will:
- Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, business administration, math, economics, or a related field
- Have 15 years of demonstrated accounting success with at least 5 years' real estate investment accounting
- Demonstrate expertise working in QuickBooks
- Be an expert at MS Excel, able to produce accurate financial analysis and run analytics on potential acquisitions
- Be a self-starter and self-motivated. Able to ask the right questions to get the information you need
- Possess a high emotional EQ and have the flexibility to work in a dynamic, start-up-like environment, capable to scale to need and pivot quickly
- Be available part-time up to 30 hours per week
