Company Description
We are looking for a high-energy, visionary leader with presence and gravitas to join a Denver based non-profit as Executive Director. This is a full-time position that reports to the Board of Directors and has responsibility for all aspects of the organization’s success, including long-range strategy, accounting/reporting, fostering partnerships, team leadership, volunteer coordination, fundraising, and grant management. This is a hybrid position with time in the Denver, CO office and working regionally with partners. Travel throughout the US about 15% of the time.
Job Description
Functional areas of responsibility
- Maintain and evolve organization’s mission, vision, and values along with the board of directors – and with consideration of all stakeholders
- Lead the board in adopting an annual strategic plan and budget
- Serve as the face of the organization – at all times perform with poise, respect and authenticity
- Proactively plan for the intended, and the unintended – with the ability to flex when necessary in an ever-changing market
- Evolve an effective PR and marketing strategy for the organization
- Establish a sustainable funding strategy – grants and gifts
- Support all aspects of event preparation, logistics, and management
- In coordination with staff, develop schedule of events ensuring a balance and adequate staffing
- Plan events with a focus on driving attendance to maximize revenue for each program
- Speak at and prepare presentations for events as necessary
- Direct responsibility for securing event venues, speakers, and sponsors
- Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in quarterly Board meetings, including prepare Board meeting materials
- Manage existing grants and ensure compliance with stated requirements
- Act as a primary point of contact to all members, mentors, community partners and sponsors

- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- A strong sense of professionalism and integrity
- Ability to perform as a hands-on leader – capable of jumping into whatever needs to be done without thinking twice
- Comfortable with public speaking and meeting facilitation
- Experience developing and delivering training programs, workshops and presentations – in person and via the web
- Technically astute with advanced knowledge of modern productivity tools
- BS/BA in a business discipline or and at least 10 years of experience in non-profit or service-based leadership
Additional Information
