Copywriter
Golin Chicago (our headquarter office) is looking for an ad-nerd Copywriter to join our team. Your goal? Breaking the Internet. We’re looking for an earned media-driven creative who wants to make the industry turn their heads by producing award-winning, media-headline grabbing fun/provocative work. Is that you? Because if so, you’ll be lovin’ working for one of the most iconic logos in the world: McDonald’s. And you’ll be solving briefs and coming up with channel-agnostic ideas to fill your book with. And talking about proactive, you’ll have open access to concepting for our roster of clients. And that includes some of the coolest, biggest brands on the planet.
On top of that, we have a not-so-secret weapon – Golin’s entire PR media team, ready to make your ideas famous, pitching them to the most important outlets, such as Buzzfeed, Complex, Hypebeast, etc.

What You'll Do
Come up with it. Bring it to life.
Job #1 is to collaborate, bringing the team your freshest, most inspired, unexpected thinking that solves our client’s problems. Job #2 is to use words to bring your ideas to life. From persuasive writeups to puns and jokes…whatever your idea takes to make it impossible for a client to pass on it.
• Collaborate with your creative director, art director partner, strategist, media, digital, and account teams to ensure your work is always relevant, strategically sound, and headline-worthy.
• Communicate your ideas to the clients with clarity, strategic insight, and passion.
• Hunt for and share with the rest of the team what’s breaking in culture BEFORE it breaks in culture.
• Proactive thinking. You’re always bringing ideas because you know not every opportunity lives within the brief or the brand you’re concepting for.
What We're Looking For
• 2 years’ experience in advertising, social, or digital media. Knowledge of earned media is a plus.
• 109% internet fluency. You know the ins and outs of social media, speak the language of the internet, have gone down YouTube rabbit holes for multiple hours in a row, have uploaded multiple Tik Tok videos, and have explored without fear the inner depths of Reddit.
• Copywriter: You’re a wizard when it comes to words and storytelling, to incite people to hit that share button.
• Most importantly, you’re a genuinely nice person who brings energy every single day to work, to your team, and the agency.
