Job Title: Good Grocer Volunteer Coordinator
Employment Type: Part-Time (estimated 20 hrs a week)
Organization Summary: Good Grocer is a full service grocery store that was founded in 2015 with the mission of making fresh quality food accessible and affordable for everyone. Good Grocer’s unique business model reduces operational costs – typically one of the largest expenses for a grocery store – by relying on volunteers to operate every aspect of the store. These savings are passed along to our volunteers, who receive a 20 percent discount on all their food purchases.
Job Summary: Effectively lead volunteer teams in running every aspect of Good Grocer.
Responsibilities:
- Provide encouragement and ongoing support to all Good Grocer volunteers
- Train and empower all new front of house and back of house volunteers
- Provide detailed administrative support for volunteer program through attendance tracking and database management
- Cashier as needed
- Complete the appropriate (closing/opening) checklists to ensure the store is opened and closed properly
Qualifications:
- 1 year of retail, restaurant or hospitality experience (grocery preferred)
- Volunteer coordinator experience
- Detail oriented with a strong ability to prioritize the changing needs of the store
- Passionate about our mission of helping families facing food insecurity
- Approachable with a willingness to hustle and work hard to get daily tasks completed
- Must provide 2 professional references
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
