Good Neighbor is seeking applicants in the mental health and I/DD services field for the position of Area Director in the Woodlawn, VA area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Area Director provides direct operational oversight and management to I/DD Program Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall management of I/DD programs in areas including, but not limited to financial management, risk management, quality assurance, compliance, program performance, individual care and team management. Under the guidance and direction of the I/DD Director, this position will implement plans for operational systems, processes, and personal assignments to accommodate the growth and strategic planning objectives of the organization while giving priority to the care of our individuals.
- The employee provides day to day management, support and oversight to I/DD programs to ensure operational efficiency, quality assurance and accountability for teams performance.
- The employee provides effective leadership and direction to assure safe, efficient, therapeutic and quality person-centered care in alignment with all regulatory and internal company standards and expectations.
- The employee effectively implements process controls to assure the programs adhere to staffing patterns, budget, payroll, training and regulatory compliance, and other key program performance indicators.
- The employee consistently demonstrates leadership, professionalism and a positive work ethic while managing a high performing team through a respectful, constructive and energetic style.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The employee must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field and 5 years of experience working with the I/DD and MH population or an equivalent combination of Management experience.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of business and leadership principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, coordination of people and resources, and personnel information systems.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points that are being made and asking appropriate questions.
- Awareness of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Skilled at using logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of supportive interventions
- Working knowledge of DBHDS, DMAS, HIPPA and other related governing bodies and related electronic systems such as CHRIS and WaMS
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other human service professionals and individuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Essential Personnel and Schedule
- Your position/function has been designated Essential, which means that, in the event of an emergency (including inclement weather conditions), your position has been determined to be critical to the support of our business operations. If you are directed to report to work just before, during or after inclement weather or any other form of emergency, you are obligated to comply.
- Essential Personnel provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals and company during times of emergencies. This is a condition of employment.
- Position may be required to work longer hours during emergencies, critical situations and to provide support to locations that operate 24 hours a day.
- Position may require employee to complete work after normal business hours to ensure that deadlines and supports are met.
- This position will require employee to travel to various locations throughout the state on an as needed basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
