PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
 o   Graduate from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program within the last 18 months of start date
 o    Unrestricted RN license
 o    Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)

  • Nurse Practitioner clinical hours with specialty, location, and a brief description of duties performed
 o    Able to provide credentialing documentation at least 8 weeks prior to start date:
  • National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • OK APRN license
  • DEA
  • OBN    

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Educational Development
o    Attend and actively engage in scheduled didactic sessions which cover a wide range of primary care topics
o    Regularly conduct literature reviews to incorporate the latest evidence-based guidelines and best practices into clinical decision-making
o    Attend and actively participate in case discussions and patient presentations with fellow residents, preceptors, and multidisciplinary team members
o    Rotate through different medical specialties that directly tie to primary care services, focusing on deepening knowledge and skills in managing diverse patient populations
o    Take advantage of professional and personal development opportunities to further enhance your primary care knowledge, skills and leadership
·         Patient Care within Scope of Practice
o    Provides direct patient care to GSCC patients.
o    Examines patient, takes medical history, records result and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow up procedures
o    Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results
o    Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs, and counsels patients, and records progress
o    Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance.
o    Ability to foster long term trust relationships with patients
o    Examine and treat injuries and refer patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary (e.g. surgeons, ophthalmologists, orthopedists, etc.)
o    Must work with patients in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner                                 
o    Works with diverse social and economic situations without imposing own values; maintains appropriate professional boundaries.              
·         EHR Documentation of Patient Visit
o    Ensure adequate documentation of each patient’s visit
o    Familiarity with traditional and web-based prescription systems.
·         Meet Quality Measures – HRSA/PCMH/CMS
o    Assist in the development and oversight for a quality improvement system incorporating quality outcome indicators.
o    Assumes responsibility for quality of medical services rendered to patients.
o    Assist in the development and update of medical care protocols and procedures.
o    Assist in the development and use of quality improvement studies.
o    Participates with staff in review of patient satisfaction surveys and in resolving patient complaints.
o    Operational Efficiency of Organization
o    Provides input for utilization and risk management activities.
·         Close charts within 24/48 Business hours
o    Responsible for closing patient charts in a timely manner to ensure efficient billing process
o    Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
·         Oversee Medication / Vaccine Administration
o    Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
o    Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.

Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
•             Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program and licensed as a nurse practitioner in the State of Oklahoma.
•             Outstanding communicator, both written an orally.
•             Proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical records system software.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone.  Team members will perform their duties while standing for extensive periods of time.  Good eyesight and manual dexterity skills are essential.  Must have strength sufficient to assist with lifting and transferring a patient and perform CPR.  Must have sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, and bend down to the floor; ability to move around rapidly; and to move in small, confined areas.  May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens and occupational dangers.
