Position – Parish Administrator

The Parish Administrator reports to the Rector.

Pay

$14,000 ($17/hour) - $15,000 ($18/hour)

Part-time – 4 days per week; 4 hours each day

Schedule

General Hours: 9:00am – 1:00pm, 4 days/week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday &

Friday. If a qualified applicant has a conflict with the specific days of this

schedule, this can enter into the employment discussion.

Overview:

  • Represent Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in a loving and caring manner and

concern for all people. Be pleasant, discreet, tactful, and capable of honoring

confidential communications. Show a willing attitude of ministry in the position

and its responsibility.

  • Have a general knowledge of office equipment and supplies needed for the

duties to be performed; and a willingness to participate in further training.

  • Possess good telephone and communication skills.
  • Be able to deal with various types of personalities, both on the phone and in

person, in a professional manner.

  • Be able to perform general office work, under the supervision of the Rector and

cooperation with the Vestry and the other staff members – Communication

Director, Organist/Choir Director, Bookkeeper and ministry chairpersons.

  • Attend bi-monthly staff meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Perform general office work; answer the phone, manage emails, maintain files.
  • Maintain all personnel files including background checks and required training

certifications.

  • Prepare bulletins for weekly Sunday services - Rite I and Rite II; Announcement

inserts; Memorial Services; Special services during Advent, Lent & Easter.

  • Order materials and supplies.
  • Maintain Good Shepherd’s Instant Church Directory app.
  • Create routine letters, documents, and/or fliers as needed/requested.
  • Keep accurate church records in collaboration with Bookkeeper using online

system (Realm) as well as parish record book (attendance, record of services,

visitations, etc.)

  • Schedule facility usage following church policy. Keep record of facility key

assignments.

  • Inform Rector, along with and Vestry and Staff members as needed of

parishioner’s status such as deaths, illness, and other crises.

  • Maintain church calendar and appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Rector.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least a high school diploma, some college preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Publisher. Familiarity

with graphics programs such as Photoshop Express and/or Corel helpful.

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with liturgy, theology and witness of The Episcopal Church is a big

plus.

  • Obtain and maintain required certification on Safeguarding God’s Children,

Safeguarding God’s People, and Dismantling Racism

  • Background Check

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
