Service and Parts Manager

Our Smith Mountain Lake Marinas are gearing up for another fantastic boating season. If you love boats, are an experienced Service Manger you may perfect for this position.

Management Responsibilities:

§ Schedule and assign jobs to service writers and technicians. Monitor progress to ensure timely completion of work.

§ Manage and coordinate with parts department to acquire parts needed to complete jobs

§ Increase technician efficiency through performance monitoring, coaching, and process improvement.

§ Process warranty claims.

§ Increase revenue through proper billing procedures, upselling opportunities, and overall effective management of processes through oversight of service writers.

§ Ensure technicians, yard crew, boat detailers and parts specialists are using safe work techniques.

§ Require and enforce that work areas are neat, clean, and orderly.

§ Schedule and monitor technician training, as necessary.

§ Assist General Manager with projects and process improvements as needed.

§ Other duties as assigned.

Customer Care Responsibilities:

§ Manage the repair orders process by ensuring communication with customers in a professional manner to gather all information necessary to create an accurate repair order

§ Manage and sell services that are applicable to the type of boat and customer’s needs.

§ Provide customers with a schedule of work, updates, and any changes that may occur.

§ Manage communication with customers on transportation of their boat.

§ Review and finalize all work orders.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 3 years marine service manager experience, preferred.

· Excellent customer service and phone skills.

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Critical thinking skills.

· Marine parts and services knowledge, necessary.

· Intermediate computer skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

· Experience with Lightspeed EVO, preferred.

· Previous experience using SpeedyDock is a plus.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Ability to be a strong leader.

Education:

· Minimum of High School degree or equivalent

Drivers License required

Boaters License preferred

Salary:

· $50,000-$60,000 Base Commission

· Year-round, full-time position

· Off Peak: Monday-Friday.

· Peak Season: Monday-Friday, weekend availability

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
