Community Engagement and Public Relations Manager

The Community Engagement and PR Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and Communications, serving as an integral part of the team. This position is responsible for helping to energize growth strategies to enhance brand visibility and increase the organization's volunteer base, financial donors and community partners. This individual will play a lead role in identifying, developing and executing community partnerships, mission awareness activities and public relations that drive engagement, support business objectives and provide unique opportunities to grow the Goodwill brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Recruit, build, and manage strategic community alliances to raise mission awareness and the brand of Goodwill to support business objectives.
2. Organize and lead community collaborations, build and implement plans for policy, or system change, driving towards opportunities for mission impact.
3. Work with internal staff to ensure communication strategies are integrated into development and advocacy to identify new and unique opportunities to promote brand engagement and community awareness.
4. Develop new public relation strategies and tactics and maintain relationships with media across mainstream outlets to enhance visibility and organizational reputation.
5. Draft content, talking points, scripts and press materials, including but not limited to statements, fact sheets, press releases, annual reports and testimonials.
6. Manage outsourced graphic designer on as-needed basis to develop creative assets for use across all platforms, including but not limited workforce development, human resources and philanthropy, maintaining brand guidelines.
7. Collaborate with development staff and the Volunteer Coordinator to identify new opportunities for funding and other partnerships through deliberate community engagement strategy.
8. Assist with developing brand standards and narrative.
9. Oversee and execute LinkedIn social media and e-marketing, optimizing the platform strategy based on analytics.
10. Maintain website updates and coordinate with external vendor to ensure dynamic, strategic content driven website, including SEO, content development and creative direction.
11. Manage organizational archives, photography assets and photo releases.
12. Coordinate with staff to ensure website updates are executed in a timely manner.
13. Demonstrate a commitment to Goodwill Industries of Dallas' policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest and ethical responsibilities.

Education & Experience:

1. B.A./B.S. degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or communications.
2. 3-5 years of public relations and marketing experience.
3. Experience with WordPress, CRMs, & Office Suit
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as exceptional organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
5. Knowledge of various social media platforms and social media marketing.
6. Must be a strong team player who is willing to support and interact well with external and internal teams alike and be able to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
7. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, high pressure environment
