Position Title: Health, Safety, & Security Coordinator
Department: Human Resources
Status: Part Time/Non-exempt
Reports to: Health, Safety, & Security Manager
Position summary: The Health, Safety, & Security Coordinator is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining the health, safety, and security programs for Goodwill Industries.
Essential functions:
· Assist the Health, Safety, and Security Manager in the implementation and oversight of Goodwill Industries Safety and Health programs by educating and inspiring employees to work safely, report hazards, and to lead healthy lives, both mentally and physically.
· Travel to all Goodwill locations within the four-county area, as required.
· Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly safety and health lessons and quizzes for employees at each facility.
· Present on Safety and Health topics at monthly facility safety and health meetings.
· Assist with the oversight of annual employee health and wellness programs including, but not limited to: health risk assessments, flu shots, healthy eating programs, physical activity contests, etc.
· Assist in the creation of new employee programs to encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
· Work with Health, Safety, and Security Manager to secure funding for health and wellness programs through grants and donations.
· Work with the Health, Safety, and Security Manager in the investigation of Accidents/Incidents/Thefts, etc.
· Work with the Health, Safety, and Security Manager to complete required safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, Federal, State, and Local rules.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse populations.
· Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
· Possess a passion for health and wellness and improving the lives of individuals served.
· Valid driver’s license with good driving record and proof of current automobile insurance required every six months.
· Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, and other applications.
· Ability to pass a criminal background screen/fingerprint check.
· Strong organizational skills with an ability to work independently on assigned tasks. Attention to detail and accuracy essential.
Education and experience:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
· Certified 1st Aid/CPR/AED preferred.
· 1 years’ experience in health, wellness, or fitness environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
