COMPASS Inc., is hiring a Community Engagement Coordinator to develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the communities we serve.
In this role, you would be responsible for effectively communicating the mission and vision of the agency, its programs, and services to cultivate a community free from violence and oppression. This is achieved by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships within our communities, utilizing structured activities and strategies to engage the community, and developing appropriate coordinated community responses.
COMPASS, an affiliate of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, provides services to all survivors of rape and sexual abuse - women, children, men - and their loved ones in Carroll, Tuscarawas, and Stark Counties. Their programs include crisis intervention and advocacy, and education and prevention.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automobile insurance.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Participate as a representative of COMPASS on community collaborations, task forces, etc.
- Provide outreach and education to area professionals and the community on available services and resources for survivors of sexual violence.
- Develop and create print and electronic material including, but not limited to, newsletters, email blasts, social media content, factsheets, brochures, and other outreach material.
- Manage agency events and meetings. This includes the planning and implementation of SAAM events.
- Assume primary responsibility for the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.
- Update and implement a 40-hour crisis intervention training for volunteers and staff that meets the requirements of the Core Standards for Rape Crisis Programs in Ohio.
- Provide coverage on the 24-hour crisis hotline as needed. Provide advocacy and support to survivors through hospital advocacy, criminal justice advocacy, and office appointments and walk-ins.
- Complete all necessary documentation and reporting forms as required by the agency and funding sources.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, practices, and safety/security regulations.
- Maintain client confidentiality of persons served.
- Other duties as assigned.
