GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for demonstrating, teaching, and ensuring staff are proficient in providing services and supports to individuals upon hire and ongoing. In addition to teaching the technical aspects of the job, equally important is the introduction of Goodwill culture and helping the new hire become part of the team. Provide support and leadership to staff as well as provide support and assistance as needed to individuals in vocational, community, and home settings.

Provide staff training upon hire according to the DDS Mentorship Program as well as conduct competency evaluations of staff with carrying out items as assigned. Continue mentoring staff once initial training is complete, throughout the first year of employment.
Act as liaison for staff with other positions within Goodwill DDS to ensure training and competency verification is obtained upon hire and ongoing.
Facilitate and complete Person-Centered Planning (PCP) assessments to identify individual strengths, needs, preferences, and abilities.
Develop and implement PCP’s and support objectives based on assessments.
Teach staff on resulting PCP’s and support objectives upon implementation; provide ongoing oversight of utilization and monitor effectiveness.
Provide day to day program leadership by remaining actively involved in service provision and acting as the mentor and role model for staff.
Act as an ongoing resource to staff in supporting individuals in services with their habilitation, interventions, emergency services, daily activities, and other items as assigned.
Responsible for ensuring and maintaining standards of safety for individuals while in program services.
Demonstrate punctual and reliable attendance, and meet appearance requirements per Goodwill policies.
Perform work activities in conformance to Goodwill values (respect, integrity, compassion, stewardship, learning, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit), immediately report any wrongdoing (unethical/improper conduct, fraud, fiscal mismanagement, etc.), embrace cultural diversity, and encourage/support others to do all the same.

Education, Training And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of habilitation and positive behavioral supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Experience in vocational support processes such as Person Centered Plans, assessments, and implementation as well as teaching staff over processes and determining competency evaluations.
Strong communication skills to include written, verbal, observational, and listening skills.
Experience in data collection, documentation, and reporting required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver’s license issued in the state of Nebraska and meets all insurance requirements.

l. Ability to communicate in spoken conversation, adequate volume speech, and have adequate hearing for conversation, telephone use and emergency information systems.
Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations, to move safely about the work area.
Visual acuity, depth perception and field of vision within normal range.
Physical stamina to be standing and safely lift objects up to 35 pounds.
Have the physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day and be able to travel to conferences, seminars, etc.

Ability to communicate effectively using both oral and writing skills.
Well developed skill in activities involving assessment techniques.
Ability to analyze information and summarize data as to the identification of employment or performance problems/methods for correction.
Knowledge of involvement with activities dealing with personal contact to help or instruct others. Demonstrate effective logical thinking to counsel others to define and solve personal problems.
Demonstrates good organizational skills and good time management.
Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office programs/other software to complete required documentation.
