Description
As the Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing goods and supplies within the Retail Division of Goodwill NNE.
You will be working with our vendors to drive sustainability and will align purchasing with the agency's sustainability objectives.
Our Retail and Warehouse locations are critical to the Goodwill mission. The revenue from our retail business helps fund the Goodwill designed programs that are proven to move people and their families toward personal stability.

Detailed Essential Duties :
- Negotiates purchase of goods for resale to obtain best pricing and margin.
- Partners with Goodwill agencies regarding best practices and leveraging of national group buying power.
- Partners with store operations leadership in the development and implementation of seasonal and categorical merchandising plans and in-store events.
- Reports balanced outcomes and results on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Forecast sales of Purchased Goods by season, product category and individual store to ensure sales, margin and contribution budgets are attained and overall program growth and development are in line with agency's strategic direction.
- Sources and buys to assortment strategy, following internal purchasing policy and conventional accounting and loss prevention controls, with specific focus on sustainable sourcing from local vendors in accordance with Goodwill NNEs New England made program.
- Directs inventory control, product distribution, receiving, tagging, and pick & pack activities for Purchased Goods, Commercial Service Supplies, using forecasting models, POS software applications and reporting as a guide.
- Manages liquidation events to keep on hand inventory fresh and relevant, while staying within budgeted performance plan.
- Assists with the budgeting process of New Goods (153).
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude, to be a great teammate, role model, and effective leader.
- High School diploma or GED require, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years previous experience in successfully developing and / or managing purchased goods program.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical skills, with proficiency in inventory controls and fiscal budgeting.
- Demonstrated high level of detailed retail knowledge, including product profitability management and SKU architecture.
- Fluent in MS Office, with a high level of proficiency in excel.
- 3 years personnel management experience.
- Criminal Background check the meets agency standards.
- Valid drivers license permitting operation of a vehicle with a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Associates degree.
- Previous experience in mission driven retail operation.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Certified Purchasing and Supply Manager (CPSM) certificate.
