Goodwill's Material Handlers are an integral part of our production team!! Material Handlers keep our production moving by using electric forklifts and/or pallet jacks to stage portions of our production flow (i.e., gaylords, pallets, tubs, etc.) matching them with the members of the production team to maximize efficiency.
Prior experience with a forklift is a plus! A pre-employment drug screen will be required and the minimum age for this position is 18.
Full-time and part-time positions with various schedules are available. Full time employees work 30-40 hrs per week. Part-time positions usually work 25 to 29 hours. Please tell us about your availability! (We can be flexible if you can be consistent.) Shifts could start as early as 7:00 am and end as late as 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday.

OBJECTIVE:
The Material Handler Associate will primarily work in a production environment moving, storing and retrieving donated product following Goodwill's warehousing and material handling procedures and guidelines. The Material Handler Associate may occasionally be in contact with customers and will need to provide excellent customer service displaying an "Attitude of Gratitude" in order to support the mission of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Use and become certified on pallet jack, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product.
* Ensure that all areas of production have sufficient materials to work with so that there is no lapse of work to minimize down time.
* Be proactive in preparing materials or storage containers to anticipate the needs of the production team.
* Ensure that the warehouse and trailers are well organized, stocked and clean to ensure items are stored in an efficient manner.
* Prepare items for shipment and track product that is both shipped as well as received by the Retail Center docks.
* Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees.
* Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
* A pre-employment drug screen is required for this position.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous storage, moving or shipping/receiving experience is helpful.
* Able to obtain forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
* Have a high attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
* Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
* Able to lift up to 75lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
* Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
* Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
