Position Description
Pay: $42,000 - 45,000

Work Schedule/Work Hours: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm, some early mornings, some evenings, some weekends, some holidays

OBJECTIVE:
The Resource Navigation Specialist exists to support Goodwill of Colorado employees as they address barriers preventing them from reaching their highest level of personal and economic independence. The Resource Navigation Specialist also provides key support to Career Path participants within Goodwill. This job will be focused on providing information and guidance towards contacts, programs and opportunities both within Goodwill of Colorado and in the community at large.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have significant experience in understanding and successfully navigating community, government and corporate programs with complex rules and regulations.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both one-on-one and able to create materials to be understood by and appeal to a wide audience.
Must have demonstrated success in maintaining relationships with a group of key contacts for the purpose of referrals to programs, knowledge sharing about opportunities available through those relationships and to gain inside information about best practices for navigating various bureaucracies.
Basic management skills required to include experience maintaining positive relationships with key internal stakeholders, identification of key success criteria in conjunction with leadership and stakeholders, implementation of initiatives and maintaining tracking of statistical information to demonstrate success of program.
Demonstrated success in the provision of customer delight through active listening, expectation setting and timely, consistent follow up.
Must have demonstrated experience with successfully maintaining confidentiality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Research and Industry Awareness
• Responsible to assess which barriers are most prevalent or most impactful to our employees, especially to our foundational employees.
• Maintains broad but basic knowledge of benefits available to employees.
• Studies the objectives, policies and needs of community and governmental organizations to effectively advise employees on strategies for successfully navigating the bureaucracy of those organizations.
Community Resources
• In partnership with MarComm, plans and develops information campaigns about community resources that are likely to have a positive effect on the assessed needs of employees. Prepares and disseminates information through varying methods and media about community resources available to employees.
• Maintains relationships with individuals in community resource organizations sufficient to provide a “warm hand-off” of employees to people who can assist them.
Corporate Resources
• Provides basic guidance to employees on the possible implications of enrolling in various employee benefit plans compared to the use of various government/community resources (i.e. Enrolling in medical insurance vs. enrolling in Medicaid/Medicare/Tricare).
• Will provide general feedback to Employee Benefits team on strengths/weaknesses observed in the existing plans.
• Familiar with the resource library for employees related to financial literacy and be able to advise employees on which resources they might want to review/study after having consulted with the employee to determine their financial literacy needs.
• Analyzes feasibility and best practices related to an Employee Benevolence Program for the purposes of proposing a program design to organization leadership. If program approved, takes a key leadership role in that program.
• Analyzes feasibility and best practices related to an Employee Leave Sharing Program for the purposes of proposing a program design to organization leadership.
Career Resources
• Serves as a primary source of information regarding internal trainings offered by Goodwill and provides intensive Case Management to these individuals to increase graduation success. for employees about programs offered by Goodwill of Colorado that may assist with their career advancement (i.e. CDL & Diesel Tech, IT Security Certification, CNA Training, etc.)
• Consults with individual employees regarding career aspirations and recommends resources or programs for the employee to pursue (i.e. Bizlibrary courses, library resources, external training opportunities)
• Carries a Caseload of 15 Ongoing Career Pathways Individuals and a caseload of 5-7 Adult High School students thru Cengage program.
• Conducts Face-to-Face meetings a minimum of every two weeks with Career Works participants.
• Actively coordinates case management services for Career Works participants to mitigate barriers.
• Assists in the distribution of Emergency Assistance to Goodwill employees and Career Works participants. Tracks all funds.
Retail
• Visits all stores and warehouses on a regular basis in their “area” to provide employees with short trainings, information and career advancement opportunity information regarding the Career Pathways program.
Reporting
• Responsible for regular reporting on progress of case management services delivery for the Career Pathways participants.
