About the Position
The Cyber Security Analyst is a member of the Global Information Technology Risk and Security team. This position will work in partnership with team members and other parts of Information Technology to identify/remediate cyber security incidents (i.e., malware infections) and perform routine IT risk/security tasks including threat hunting and remediation, investigating malware infected personal computers, determine how the infection occurred, what information was lost and how to prevent future infections. This position independently handles complex security tasks and provides guidance to less experienced staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with deskside support, server administration and other parts of IT to remediate incidents. Provide input to project-related decisions.
- Ability to work on complex projects, lead smaller projects and perform routine security administrative tasks. Assist others in consulting assignments.
- Able to use a log management tool (Splunk), develop search procedures/dashboards to identify/remediate cyber or product incidents. Document findings/evidence from cyber investigations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation. Assist in technical support of security related to 3rd party software, operating systems or databases. Has developed unique skills and abilities valued by his/her peers.
- Detailed knowledge of one HOT skill or basic knowledge of several HOT skills. Able to troubleshoot basic problems and recommends appropriate action. Use/Apply principles, concepts and techniques of a HOT skill. Develop/Modify programs to support Goodyear’s security requirements.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a related discipline.
- 3 or more years of experience in Information Technology
- In lieu of degree 8 years or more years of experience in Information Technology.

- Good knowledge of Windows, networking, Information Technology security tools and basic coding
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Can convey (verbal/written) complex and technical issues to diverse audiences in a manner that is easily understood
- Ability to apply different strategies to convince others to change their opinion or plan/win support from others regarding ideas
- Demonstrated knowledge of current Microsoft Office products (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
