Googans Galley is a NEW café, breakfast/lunch takeaway establishment in the heart of Essex looking for responsible, hardworking, and energetic individuals to join our team for afternoon shifts. We need cashier/food service associates AT ALL SKILL LEVELS who are excited to execute a creative menu at a casual stop-off locale. We are seeking people that are looking to create memorable experiences in a warm, refined, yet comfortable environment for locals and tourists alike. Don’t have a lot of experience, no worries! We will provide the training. Most of our menu consists of sandwiches, cold salads, soups etc.

The Cashier/Counter Service Associate, reporting to the Kitchen Manager/Supervisors, are responsible for assisting in taking customer orders, restocking retail items, cleaning, making beverages and adhering to a high quality of food standards to ensure guest satisfaction. The Counter Service Associate will help prepare orders and cater to guest needs where required. Maintaining clean equipment and workspace is paramount. This individual must have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner, as you will be joining an excellent team of like-minded people.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in taking and executing customer orders, food prep, sandwich making, cleaning/sanitizing protocols and other requirements
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared to the appropriate standards
• Collaborate with Kitchen Manager to develop new food menu items, daily/weekly specials and presentation of food items as desired
• Maintain appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all food and beverage facilities and equipment
• Disseminate any feedback received (both positive and negative) from guest to the ownership to continually improve upon customer service
• Monitor purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases
• Great for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and who might want to undertake new initiatives, assist with other business aspects like social media/marketing and event hosting

Qualifications

• No experience required, interest in food industry recommended
• This position has scheduling flexibility to include working early mornings, weekends or day time shifts during summer season; shifts as short as 3-4 hours
• Passionate about fresh food and great service in a start-up atmosphere
• Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and be responsive to the needs of our guests, staff and ownership
