Business & Estate Planning Attorney

 The Goosmann Law Firm is seeking a talented and driven Business & Estate Planning Attorney to join its high growth firm. The Firm is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their personal and professional goals through quality and timely legal advice. You will play a pivotal role in advising our clients on legal matters related to their businesses, assets, and estate planning needs. You will work closely with clients to develop comprehensive legal strategies that protect and maximize their interests. A successful candidate will require a deep understanding of business law, estate planning, and taxation to provide the best possible guidance and solutions.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Working collaboratively as part of a team.
• Managing multiple clients, cases and legal activities that carry varying deadlines.
• Collaborating with clients to develop strategies designed to meet specific goals.
• Business development, including professional organization involvement and writing.
• Supervising paralegals, staff, and team members as your role progresses.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Successful passing of the bar exam
• Active member in good standing of the Bar or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Iowa. Nebraska and South Dakota licensure is helpful.
• 5 years of relevant experience practicing in business law and estate planning.
• Strong understanding of taxation as it pertains to business and estate planning.
• Strong communication, work ethic, drive, keen attention to detail, responsiveness and the ability to work effectively in a small team environment.

Preferred Experience:

• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent academic and professional credentials.
• Specific experience with designing plans, drafting and client advising.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
