As a Marketing Data Analyst in the Advertising & Analytics group at Gopher Sport, you’ll have the opportunity to engage your curiosity & critical-thinking skills as you maintain and enhance the data ecosystem that produces highly-successful multi-channel marketing campaigns. Responsibilities specific to this role include:
- Acting as custodian of all marketing and sales data, ensuring its accurate integration and organization in our database systems.
- Leveraging the database to produce brilliant, insightful reporting and effective marketing campaigns that fuel growth and profitability.
- Working with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to develop systems for regularly acquiring and auditing new data that enhances the value of the database.
- Creating and managing data connections and automations that fuel our most productive multi-channel marketing programs.
- Enhancing department efficiency by implementing methods to automate or optimize the department’s most common data-related operations.
- Maintaining data practices that are in alignment with or exceed industry standards.·
To successfully contribute in this role, you’ll need to have:
- The requisite technical skills to manage all corporate data sources and warehouses, including advanced excel and SQL competency.
- A creative, data-driven approach to solving problems.
- Ability to explain complex technical challenges and processes to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability and desire to continuously improve existing processes.
- A high-degree of personal accountability, ability to work independently
- Willingness to proactively communicate progress against current projects to company leaders
- Ability to work under deadlines on time-sensitive projects
- BA/BS in Statistics, Math, Economics, Marketing or related degree.
- Experience in a marketing or sales-related role addressing challenging business questions through reporting and analytics. Experience working with large, complex datasets in a variety of applications.
- Experience in excel utilizing powerpivots, macros, powerquery, advanced formulas, etc.
- Experience using SQL in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio or comparable.
Factors that will contribute to your success:
- Experience with ETL job creation. Specific experience in Talend, Jitterbit, Visual Studio or comparable a plus.
- Experience in .Net framework
- Experience developing automated marketing campaigns.
- NetSuite or Microsoft Access experience a plus.
- Experience in a B-to-I or B-to-B marketing environment/circulation department a plus

The Advertising & Analytics team is responsible for supporting Gopher Sport with the analytical tools and data needed to create, execute, and measure brilliant marketing campaigns. Acting as subject matter experts in the areas of analytics, direct mail marketing, and digital advertising; team members collaborate with brand leadership and external partners to ask and answer our most challenging business questions.
