Robotic Assembly Technician:
Incumbent performs basic/moderate, and learns complex, machine and automation assembly and preparation, customer site installation, and field service. Trains and instructs customers on the operations of installed cell.
Note: Based on education/formal training, demonstrated skills and abilities incumbent has a career path to Mechanical Design Engineering, Controls Application Engineering or Robotics Applications Engineering.
Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Assemble automation and machines per the bill of material and design.
  • Incumbent works closely with Mechanical Design Engineer for required alterations from original design, ensures proper documentation is completed for any modifications altered from original design.
  • Performs installation of all attachments that require electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic connections.
  • Performs Installation of Gosiger upgrades and retrofits on machines.
  • Incumbent ensures high quality levels/standards in all work performed and follows all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Trains & instructs customers, and internal team members, on proper installation, service/repair procedures for current & new equipment and processes.
  • Properly packs and prepares automation and machine for shipment to customer.
  • Performs problem solving and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
  • Performs technical interface for third party options (Okuma, Fanuc, G&L, etc.)
  • Consults with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation and service/repair.
  • Accurately documents, completes and reports required information for work records and reports.
  • Writes basic PLC programs and makes proper changes to system programs when required.
  • Create, optimize and debug Fanuc RJ3 programs.
  • Performs and/or assists with the setup of machines, accessories, and attachments on to and off the shop floor.
  • At all times ensures work area is clean and orderly before & after assembly and shipment preparation. Maintains a clean work environment.
  • Performs ordering and expediting materials for projects and customer service orders.
  • Required, travels to customer site; locally, out-of-state, and out of country.
  • Ensures all activities are done safely and follows procedures and guidelines when working in a production environment.
  • Continuously reviews current processes and procedures that make it easy for internal/external customers to do business with department/division. Ensures processes and procedures allow efficiency in work performed.
  • Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other job functions within department or other work areas within scope and ability.
  • Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous development. Progressive development of skills should be cultivated through further education, seminars, company training and other external resources such as reading material.
Essential Requirements:
  • High School Diploma with demonstrated experience in machining or electrical machine repair.
  • Strong mechanical background along with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical systems, PLC’s and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have a demonstrated knowledge in the use of computers and common software packages.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Mitsubishi and etc.
  • Demonstrated application and commitment of customer satisfaction.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Good presentation and communication skills as a representative of Gosiger to assigned customers
  • Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
  • Must be detail orientated and demonstrate the ability to maintain and work to a schedule.
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives and suppliers.
  • Physical demands: continuous; bending, stooping, standing, climbing, step stool climbing, lifting to 50lbs
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours as required by customer.
  • A valid Driver’s License, a good driving record, and the ability to “legally” operate a company vehicle/or personal vehicle for company business.
  • Must be able to travel up to a minimum of 50% up to a maximum of 80% of the time
  • 17) Must be able to travel in support of training, out-of-state or out-of-country customers, and assist other divisions as required to support business demand.
  • 18) Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Passport.
  • 19) Ability to obtain a major credit card i.e., American Express, Visa, or Master Card, based on your own personal credit history to utilize for business expenses
  • and occasional travel requirements. Gosiger provides business expense reimbursement within 2 weeks of submission and approval.
Working Conditions:
Production work environment with occasional exposure to customer on-site product environment. Hand eye coordination in assembly of parts/machines. Visual and attention-to-detail. Work uniforms are company provided. Manufacturing work environment which includes moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles. Hands on work with machine tool equipment. CRT viewing and key entry. Internal/external customer communications with vendor and supplier contact. Employee requirement to utilize Gosiger and customer safety guidelines and procedures. Lifting to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, standing, climbing, step stool climbing
