The Role:
GovAssist is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to play a crucial role in our finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to manage a broad range of financial responsibilities in a dynamic, international, multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight and a solid accounting background and be ready to address the challenges and opportunities of a fast-evolving global business landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the financial close process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
Oversee and manage finances across multiple companies and entities.
Handle all facets of accounting operations, including receivables, payables, payroll, taxes, and more.
Establish and maintain internal controls and policies, ensuring adherence to laws and best practices; manage government reporting and tax filings.
Facilitate financial audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure efficiency.
Deliver comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting trends, forecasting financial outcomes, and identifying growth opportunities.
Assist with the financial planning process, including budgeting and forecasting, in collaboration with department heads.
Implement and refine accounting systems and software with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
Mentor and support the accounting team, promoting professional growth and development.
Collaborate with teams across GovAssist to support strategic financial objectives and business operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior role, preferably in a high-growth or international business environment.
Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience with international financial operations and a strong plus for experience working globally.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Rho; adeptness in integrating and optimizing accounting software and systems.
Outstanding analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to thrive in a rapid-paced setting, managing multiple priorities with strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams and senior management.
