Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team out of Fort Bragg, NC as a Federal Construction Site Safety and Quality Control Manager (SSHO/QCM). The SSHO/QCM will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of construction personnel, compliance with federal regulations, and the delivery of high-quality construction projects. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction safety protocols, quality control procedures, and federal guidelines, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Safety Oversight:** Implement and maintain a comprehensive safety program that adheres to all relevant federal regulations, including OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements. Monitor construction activities to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and training to ensure the well-being of all personnel on the construction site.
- **Quality Control Management:** Develop and execute a robust quality control plan to guarantee that all construction activities meet the established standards and specifications. Monitor construction processes, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirements. Identify deviations and non-conformities and work closely with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, incidents, and quality control measures. Prepare detailed reports documenting safety and quality performance, highlighting trends, concerns, and improvement opportunities. Communicate findings to project stakeholders and collaborate on effective solutions.
- **Regulatory Compliance:** Stay current with federal regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to construction safety and quality control. Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in accordance with these regulations and standards.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and quality. Provide guidance and support to ensure that safety and quality considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
- **Training and Development:** Organize and facilitate safety training sessions for construction personnel, covering topics such as hazard recognition, fall protection, confined space entry, and more. Promote a continuous learning environment that enhances the skills and knowledge of all construction team members.
- **Emergency Preparedness:** Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate with local emergency services to ensure rapid and effective response in case of accidents, incidents, or other emergencies on the construction site.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in federal construction projects and familiarity with EM 385-1-1 regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction industry safety standards.
- Proven track record of implementing successful safety programs and quality control measures on construction sites.
- Strong analytical skills to assess safety and quality risks and develop effective strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and educate diverse teams.
- Leadership skills to foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Ability to travel to various construction sites as required.
