- At least 1 year deckhand experience on rivers
- Heavy equipment experience - operating and/or maintenance
- Ability to handle lines and wires
- Make and break tow
- Maintain barges in tow
- Inspect equipment to ensure safety
- Maintain cleanliness of vessel and tow
