- Position: Director of Purchasing**
- Job Description:** As the Director of Purchasing, you will play a pivotal role in our company's success by overseeing all aspects of the purchasing process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing purchasing operations to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans to support the company's growth objectives and minimize costs.
- Source and evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and establish relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, construction, and finance, to forecast purchasing needs and align procurement activities with project timelines.
- Manage inventory levels, monitor market trends, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Oversee the purchase order process, from requisition to delivery, and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure purchasing performance, supplier performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Provide leadership and direction to the purchasing team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to purchasing and supply chain management.
- Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Experience in the residential construction industry preferred, with knowledge of building materials, construction processes, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in purchasing software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
