DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, and monthly closing entries.
- Daily accounts payable entries, accounts receivable entries, regular GL review, and account reconciliation.
- Ensures all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews; prepares and presents monthly financial statements.
- Provides management with timely reviews of the organization's financial status and progress.
- Manages and oversees the preparation of profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Directs and oversees the company's financial administration and planning including but not limited to financial policy development and implementation, management of accounting systems, budget creation, planning and implementation, risk management and insurance, purchasing, taxation, shortand long-term forecasting, and month-end closing, strategic planning.
- Reviews evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinates annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.
- Directs budget preparation, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification for proposed budgets.
- Manages the functional areas of financial reporting and control, budgeting, forecasting, tax, and audit management information.
- Ensures compliance with statutory payroll and property tax and sales tax reporting.
- Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
- Oversees accounts payable function including but not limited to compliance with expense reporting, capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures.
- Oversees and manages relationships with vendors, lending institutions, and the financial community.
- Contributes to the company's short- and long-range planning, identifying areas of possible growth, expansion, and new profit opportunities.
- Oversees insurance function and corporate compliance to assure the company's assets are safeguarded from all possible exposure.
- Establishes appropriate internal systems to support financial and business operations consistent with the company's growth.
- Reviews and monitors the organization's financial position; creates and distributes necessary reports on the organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Manages and coordinates annual report preparation and issuance.
- Manages tax reporting programs.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounting managers; manages schedules and workflow.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of the accounting team; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent.
- Four or more years of related experience and/or training.
- Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret economic conditions and anticipate the impact on the organization.
- Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and the scientific method.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.
- Hands-on work style, attention to detail, and ability to deliver work that is complete, technically accurate, and on time.
- Practical general understanding of the "on the ground" issues, terminology, and activities associated with development, construction and property management in order to garner the full respect and cooperation of the real estate group.
- Experience in developing and managing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
