The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in real estate general ledger accounting, financial reporting, tax management, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and guide an established team of accounting professionals, creating a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee monthly close and preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual operating budgets.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies ensuring government compliance.
- Maintain open lines of communication with investors and banking associates.
- Oversee preparation of CAM, RE Tax, Insurance, Utility Reconciliations.
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
- History of successfully managing accounting teams.
- Strong foundation in GL accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong experience effectively creating budgets and forecasts.
- Strong understanding of Excel modeling and financial analysis.
- Ability to correctly calculate CAM and Utility reconciliations.
- Experience working closely with outside tax advisory firms.
- Maintains a growth mindset and continuously improves systems and processes for key internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate and address issues with a diverse group of people.
