A prominent privately owned Full-Service Real Estate Investment Firm in Central New Jersey seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance team.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in real estate general ledger accounting, financial reporting, tax management, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and guide an established team of accounting professionals, creating a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee monthly close and preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
• Coordinate the preparation of annual operating budgets.
• Develop and implement effective tax strategies ensuring government compliance.
• Maintain open lines of communication with investors and banking associates.
• Oversee preparation of CAM, RE Tax, Insurance, Utility Reconciliations.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Demonstrated 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
• History of successfully managing accounting teams.
• Strong foundation in GL accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong experience effectively creating budgets and forecasts.
• Strong understanding of Excel modeling and financial analysis.
• Ability to correctly calculate CAM and Utility reconciliations.
• Experience working closely with outside tax advisory firms.
• Maintains a growth mindset and continuously improves systems and processes for key internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate and address issues with a diverse group of people.
