The company is looking to bring an experienced low-voltage service technician to join the local team.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
- Servicing, testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage security cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with Access Control, Fire Alarm/Fire Protection Systems, Video/CCTV, Security, and Voice/Data Systems.
- Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Installing and mounting electronic devices, panels, sensors, and components.
- Troubleshooting, repair, and installation of wiring & cabling requiring knowledge of industry standard and manufacturer color codes.
- Experienced with the installation and operations of fiber optics, Cat 5e, 6a, RS 485, 232 analog and digital cable specifications.
- Use of an Electronic (FLUKE) multi-meter to find open circuits, short circuits, and ground faulted circuits in networking or other field wiring.
- Have a working knowledge of class 2 cabling as it pertains to NFPA 72, BICSI and other relevant codes established and governing the installation of low voltage systems.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical system for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.
- Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating conditions, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventative maintenance.
- Review all work orders assigned and provide daily updates to scheduling coordinators and customers.
- Communicate all work prior to starting, as well as work completed to the customer upon arrival and before leaving work site.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in completing all assigned work orders.
- Inspecting customer sites and reviewing work orders, blueprints/plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures to provide customer solutions.
Skills/Traits Required:
- We’re looking for a leader to “make it happen” and assist in driving production within the field team.
- 2-3 years of experience working in the low voltage industry
- Must be able to travel as needed to client’s businesses.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work each day.

- Experience and ability to work on in a team environment or by themselves.
- Aptitude for Information Technology/Networking
- NICET preferred.
- Notifier, Simplex, Silent Knight Manufacturing Training Preferred.
