Gpac is partnered with a private, non-profit hatchery in Alaska to hire a Hatchery Manager for their organization. This hatchery produces hatchery-born, ocean-raised wild salmon for commercial, sport, personal use, and subsistence fisheries. An incredible compensation package is included with this position!
Hatchery Manager responsibilities:
- Supervise hatchery technicians, preparing work schedules and activities
- Perform administrative duties such as planning, budgeting, documentation, and overall improving hatchery operations
- Fish propagation and harvest
- Prepare feeding schedules
- Fish assessments including looking for diseases and meeting their nutritional needs
- Progressive outlook on hatchery operations
Hatchery Manager Requirements:
- BS degree in fisheries science or related program, or 4 years work experience in a hatchery or related industry
- One year experience as a fish culturist
- Valid drivers license
