Job description
Responsible for overseeing accounts receivable procedures, including billing and month-end close activities, which generate general ledger and accounts receivable financial reports for the organization.
Ensures that processes adhere to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services , HIPAA, General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as the software systems, protocols, policies, and procedures of the organization.
This role entails managing processes related to collections, appeals, denials, and bad debt for cost reporting, along with other critical processes associated with accurate billing, revenue, and receivable management.
Proficiency in giving and receiving written and verbal instructions in English is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess knowledge of key staff, residents, and families, as well as a basic understanding of employee relations, ethics, sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards for healthcare facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Keeps confidential all information not specifically authorized to be given to others.
- Manage facilities admissions and discharge census entries, verification of benefits, validates accurate payer type setup on resident record in billing system.
- Booking and posting charges for all payers and new move ins with special requests.
- Processes month end close for Assisted and / or Memory Care Living (AL and MC) locations in a timely manner.
- Manages accounts receivables and collections for AL / MC .
- Manages Private Pay accounts, billing statement generation and provides customer service to all residents as requested or required.
- Processes refunds timely.
- Enters and posts ancillary charges.
- Enters and posts cash receipt payments.
- Attends required meetings for department and position.
- Creates financial reports relating to account receivables during the month end close process and completes the required reconciliation(s).
- Audit aging report functions to target accounts, maintain or increase cash flow and resolve accounts receivable balances timely.
- Send follow-up inquiries timely and assists with requested information.
- Utilize and manage multiple billing operation systems and web based portal tools.
- Manages Trust Fund by completing deposits, withdrawals and refunds.
- Maintains Admission Fee flowsheet for tracking.
- Observes and follows safety policies and procedures.
- Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures.
- Attends all mandatory in-services as required.
- Demonstrates positive guest relations to internal and external customers.
- Team Members are required to report to their Department Director all incidents of actual or possible abuse of a Resident that they become aware of.
Abuse in this respect includes, but is not limited to, verbal, sexual, physical, and / or mental abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, neglect, and / or any misappropriation of property.
Team Members will make the report as soon as possible after they become aware of the incident of actual or possible abuse.
May be assigned other related duties and responsibilities as required by VP of Finance
REQUIRED SKILL, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of Associate Degree or 2 years relevant experience.
