Structural Steel Fabricator)
JOB DESCRIPTION
A structural steel fabricator in the area is looking for someone with your experience. They are continuing to grow and are looking to add to their team.
They have a strong and highly skilled group focused on teamwork and collaboration. Their compensation package is competitive including bonuses and a 401K program.
Skills and Requirements :
- 5 years extensive steel fabrication project management
- Working knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication processes and procedures
- Familiarity with the construction industry
- Ability to read and accurately interpret sketches and blueprints, including design, construction, architectural and sub contractor drawings
- Self motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner
- Familiarity of AISC codes
- Ability to establish rapport with customers and respond to their needs in an efficient and timely manner
Job Responsibilities Include :
- Attend kick-off meetings to become familiar with and discuss new projects
- Coordinate sequencing and any special job issues with General Contractors
- Review and interpret RFI’s from detailer, make sure they are valid, then forward to General Contractors and obtain responses timely
- Keep track of all submittals and press for timely returns
- Review approval returns for accuracy, then forward to detailer
- Handle any RFI’s, ASI’s and / or revisions promptly.
- Communicate with field superintendents to confirm delivery schedules
- Communicate with detailers for release of jobs for fabrication
- Review Released for Fab shop drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare separate Buy-Out lists as required
- Update Job Schedule as needed
- Coordinate delivery dates and delivery of joist & deck
- Address and service any field problems immediately
- Keep records of any detailing related problems and rectify same with detailer
