STEEL ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION :
A premier structural steel fabricator has an opening for a Steel Estimator with talent, initiative, and drive to join their team and have a critical role in their growing organization.

Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Quantitative take offs.
- Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimate
- Determine labor and equipment costs
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
- Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards
- Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
- Review quotes and estimates with the project team
- Prepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
- Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers
- Serve as company interface between owner & architect
Steel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS :
- 3 years of steel estimating experience
- Detailing experience not required but a bonus.
- Advanced computer skills with estimating software
- Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Understand aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts.
