Job Title : Structural Steel Estimator
Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating complex steel structures, specifically projects ranging from 5,000 to over 20,000 tons.
This role is essential for ensuring accurate project bids and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements and scope.
- Maintain and update cost databases to ensure competitive and accurate bidding.
- Participate in bid meetings and provide expert insight into project feasibility and cost implications.
- Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating, particularly for large-scale projects (5,000 tons at minimum).
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Knowledge of current steel market trends and pricing.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards in steel construction.
