One of my best clients, a precision manufacturing shop, is looking for a Tool & Die Maker .

The Tool & Die Maker makes and repairs tools, dies, and fixtures for continuous-run punch presses and related metal fabricating machines.
Requirements of the Tool & Die Maker :
- Five years of trade school, vocational education, related work experience, or apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent in working on lathes, mills, etc., as required, working in a specific tool room capacity, and / or providing backup for other personnel.
- Receive work orders and engineering drawings, read and understand blueprints, piece prints, GDT, and SPC.
- Check blueprint and die specifications.
- Use a micrometer, calipers, and fixed or adjustable gauges to ensure that repairs meet specified tolerances.
- Write, edit, and use CNC computer programs and control panels.
- Understand machining, cutting, stamping, and forming properties of various raw materials (303SSTv. 304SST)
- Perform routine operator maintenance on machines.
- Maintain records related to die operations, quality, etc. Review records, notify superiors, or take corrective action to maintain quality and production standards.
