GPD is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation group in the Pittsburgh office.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Engineer with 1-3 years of bridge design experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering a plus.
- Successfully passed EIT.
- Knowledge of AASHTO/PennDOT policies and standard procedures applicable for the analysis, evaluation, and design of various bridge types.
- Strong technical/computer software skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel), AutoCAD, Microstation and with PennDOT design software programs.
- Experience working on PennDOT/PTC projects.
- Experience in reading and fully understanding bridge construction drawings for transportation projects.
- Bridge inspection certification (CBSI) and/or experience a plus
- Ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines through all phases of design.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Technical problem-solving.
- Engineering design and documentation with an emphasis in Bridge Construction projects.
- Preparing bridge construction drawings, calculate bridge rebars and bridge quantity.
- Performing bridge inspections with professional engineers up to 5% of the time.
- Preparation of construction documents based upon field surveys, available resources, and client requirements.
- Supporting projects with technical design and documentation using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
