GPD is excited to welcome new talent due to our sustained growth in the Architecture/Engineering industry. We are currently seeking Senior Electrical Engineers for our Akron, OH, Cleveland and Columbus, OH offices. These individuals will collaborate with our QC Chief and Project Managers to spearhead the technical aspects of designing power infrastructure while also playing a crucial role in mentoring our electrical team, contributing to our ongoing success and future growth.
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET-accredited program.
- 15 years of experience in the A/E industry.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
- Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
- Experience mentoring and empowering newer engineers in their careers.
- Established experience in design oversight for electrical projects.
- Proficient with NEC, NFPA, Building Codes, and Energy Codes.
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, Bluebeam etc.
- Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communication while working with team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
Key Responsibilities:
- Senior electrical design in our MES group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline in the development of electrical infrastructure projects: this includes leading the electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements set forth by the project managers.
- Technical oversight: Applies expert knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry and applies knowledge and experience to complex projects and finds non-standard design solutions.
- Mentoring and developing the Electrical team to further our success in the industry: this includes not only electrical engineering and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
- Administrative oversight: Championing GPD’s quality assurance and client standards by using design expertise to partner with our QC Chief, Project Managers and support their team’s QA/QC efforts. This also includes partnering with Project Managers to form schedules, estimates, and proposals.
