Our PMO is seeking a Project Management leader to oversee and administer Technology Project Portfolio made up of our core systems and related data operations & analytics. This individual will interact with all levels within the organization to identify potential projects that best align with the strategic priorities of the firm. They will manage a project portfolio covering a wide range of cross-departmental initiatives from intake to delivery with a focus on aligning programs, projects, and operations to strategic objectives.
Role
- Deliver and maintain a portfolio plan and roadmap for development showing key milestones, phase reviews, and dependencies.
- Measure, rank, and prioritize those programs and projects within the portfolio. This includes leading project-level reviews, optimizing and maintaining project standards, proactively identifying improvement, analytical reporting, and management of staff.
- Drive project scheduling, resource planning, and management to ensure delivery within expected tolerances.
- Work with all levels of leadership and associates to develop executive-level presentations of the portfolio and project budget.
- Collaborate with the leadership team, technical managers, and business sponsors to provide a comprehensive overview of programs and projects within the portfolio.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define an approach to create a roadmap for the future development of products, processes, and systems.
- Oversee quality assurance that initiatives are well-managed and adhere to appropriate standards and good practices.
Success in this role will come from fifteen plus years of progressive experience in portfolio, program, and/or project management, including at least three years managing PMO staff.
Expected qualifications
- Experience in a PMO undergoing an Agile transformation.
- Competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
- Thorough knowledge & experience in project management lifecycle processes following Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations.
- Ability to build consensus through consultative, conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Conversant with current technologies and trends and their application to strategic business issues.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, or related field.
Prefer
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum leader (SSM, SAFe SP, etc) or other relevant certification.
- Banking or financial services experience. Particular areas of interest are Core Banking (Deposits, Lending Systems) and Data Analytics and Operations.

- Full-time position. $150,000 base ( /- DOE) along with cash and stock incentive plans that add 20%-30% annually to base compensation.

- Location: Most of our team is in the Kansas City area working a hybrid 2 WFH days so we strongly prefer individuals in the Kansas City Metro. We will consider fully remote who do not live in the region with expected travel every two months to KC for several days.
