Playground Supervisor

GRACE is looking for a Playground/Recess Supervisor for Holy Family Catholic School! This position is responsible for supervising students to maintain a safe playground environment and attending to any students needs while on their recess break.

Essential Functions:

Supervision outside unless weather turns severely cold (cold weather policy is in the handbook) or it rains, then supervision takes place in the building

Each playground supervisor needs to wear an orange vest, carry a walkie talkie/cell phone, school key, and have access to a first aid kit

Keep eyes and ears open for appropriate/inappropriate verbal and nonverbal behaviors

Consistently remind students of approriate behaviors

Listen to all stories before passing judgement

Allow students to have fun within the boundaries of physical and emotional safety

Before bringing students into the office, try to resolve conflict outside. Students should walk away getting along

Anytime a student is hurt on the head, they need to be taken to the office

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Ability to be attentive to students needs and provide a safe environment for students

High School Diploma or equivalent

Ability to pass a background check

Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities

Ability to work and communicate well with others

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 40 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
