Professional Qualifications
Desirable candidates should have the following background or comparable experience:
● Minimum three years teaching the content area
● Advanced degree preferred
● High level of emotional intelligence
● Exceptional oral and written communication skills
● Experience integrating technology into the curriculum
● Ability to engage parents as partners in the student’s educational experience
● A history of continued growth and development as an educator
● A history of effective collaboration with colleagues
● Desire to interact with students outside of the classroom (e.g. coaching, clubs, etc.)
Job Responsibilities
· Create PE lessons centered around a Christian worldview
· Create lessons that allow for practical application of biblical truths
· Promote a pursuit of lifelong wellness and physical activity
· Develop and introduce a variety of physical education activities
· Remain familiar with current best practices in physical educational instructional methodology
· Plan and implement field days for students in grades K-8
· Ability to hold students to a clearly articulated standard of performance
· Devise lesson plans that follow GCA’s Curriculum and Instruction Standards and Course Maps
· Differentiate instruction for students at all levels
· Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes safe learning
· Update grades and lesson plans in FACTS/Renweb
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration
