Job Summary: Performs a variety of food service duties which includes but is not limited to: preparing and serving meals to patients, staff and visitors, maintain the care and cleanliness of the kitchen and provide assistance to the other members of the dietary staff. Responsible for patient’s initial dietary visit and understanding the importance of following special diets ordered by physicians, speech therapist or registered dietician. May be responsible for the clean-up of the kitchen at the end of the shift which includes sweeping and mopping of the floors.
Qualifications: Previous kitchen and food prep experience preferred, must be comfortable entering patient rooms. Must be able to work in a close environment with others as well as independently. Some knowledge of infection control practices helpful. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Participates in monthly staff meetings/in-services and other committees as appropriate
- Ability to work without immediate supervision
