What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Administration Coordinator position at Grady Health System Careers?
The Research Administration Coordinator will be responsible for related revenue cycle management tasks for the purpose of accounts receivable and resolution for patients specific to, but not limited clinical research participation. Areas of concentration include, facilitating incoming calls from patients/families/insurance companies, as well as attorneys' offices in order to address questions and resolve account discrepancies. Duties surrounding these calls may also include reviewing charge entry issues, transaction management, potential coding problems, settlement agreements for self-pay patients and payer inquiries. The Research Administration Coordinator may review claims, handle correspondences, and provide service excellence to patients, families, and other authorized parties. The Research Administration Coordinator will serve as a patient advocate during the life cycle of the account. Core functions are but not limited to: Initiation of the billing process, eligibility & benefits, transaction management, refund analysis, credit balance review, response to patient account inquiries, and self-pay collections.
Job Responsibilities:
- Updates patient information in Epic
- Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
- Initiates Insurance billing
- Analyzes Reimbursement analysis (i.e. adjustments, remittance review, overpayments).
- Reviews and initiates refund requests
- Establishes Payment plans
- Review Research Payments
- Initiates Self-Pay settlement agreements
- Handles Correspondence (i.e. deceased notifications, attorney request and bankruptcy notification).
- Remote (local to metro Atlanta area | on-site as required)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance and Human Resources and all applicable degree fields.
Experience Requirements:
- Three (3) or more years job related experience in a hospital or clinic environment patient finance. Strong familiarity with Project Management Methodologies and Best Practices
