What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Information Technician position at Grady Health System?
SUMMARY
The duties of this position require the exercise of courtesy, in speaking with patients, families, and others in order to maintain sound public relations. The Health Information Technician is responsible for the retrieval, delivery, and the accurate filing of medical records, looks papers and microfilm; also copying of medical records. Responsibilities also include correcting misfiles and maintaining files in a neat manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to sort and file documents in alphabetical and numerical order
- Good interpersonal skills, including good telephone etiquette
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.
- One (1) year of experience in medical record department (preferred)
- Data entry skills (preferred)
