SUMMARY
Performs repairs and preventive maintenance of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and masonry. Prepares work surfaces and areas. Removes some furniture, equipment, shelving, fixtures, applies corner guards, corner beads, patches and tapes, primes surfaces. Understands and has some knowledge of blue print drawings to perform special task when requested. Demonstrates, understands and applies, OSHA, NFPA, requirements as well as GHS Corporate Compliance Policies and Procedures, DHR and JACHO standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Carpentry Trade required or equivalent level of education or experience.
- At least (1) one year of hospital experience in engineering (mechanical, carpentry, and painting) preferred.
- Has some knowledge of building fire walls, smoke compartments, and other structural related compartments.
- Performs mechanical repairs on faucets, sinks, showers, tubs, and various items associated with maintenance. Understands and follows instructions provided from leadership.
- Understands and has some knowledge of blue print drawings to perform special task.
- Demonstrates understands and applies, OSHA, NFPA, requirements as well as GHS Corporate Compliance Policies and Procedures, DHR and JACHO standards.
- Understands and follows written and oral instructions.
- Consistent with teamwork and other values associated in the Health System.
