Retail Team Member
Department: Hourly Retail
Reports To: Store Manager
Tip Eligibility: Eligible
The Team Member is responsible for providing and maintaining world-class guest services per Graeters standards, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, and cash register operations (POS) per company and store policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
Guest Service
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Provide a helpful level of customer service to guests.
- Assist guests and answers questions making them feel welcome.
- Apply suggestive selling techniques when serving guests.
- Respond to guest requests and/or concerns with a positive attitude and demeanor.
- Practice and ensure accurate cash management policies and practices.
- Prepare products for guests per company recipes.
- Maintain awareness of company promotions.
Store Awareness
- Clean and sanitize equipment and serving areas per guidelines.
- Maintain a whole store focus and stay on task, following the 1-2-3 of Graeters.
- Ensure products are rotated to minimize loss and maximize freshness.
Teamwork
- Follow directions and take constructive criticism and coaching from leadership.
- Adhere to schedules, making sure you are punctual and dependable.
- Adhere to proper uniform and personal hygiene standards.
- Additional responsibilities as defined by management.

Physical Demands:
- Capable of lifting and manually moving products weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Capable of scooping ice cream on a repetitive basis to make the product.
- Capable of standing for an extended period, 3-4 hours.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
- Reasoning Development: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving some variability.
- Mathematical Development: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement; apply practical applications of proportion and measurement.
- Language Development: Read at a basic level to be able to understand instructions; speak with others clearly and convey information effectively.
Work Environment:
- Retail environment, the pace can vary
- Walk-in freezer, slippery floor
- Wet floors in the serving area
