Summary
Identify, transport, pack, and remove and dispose of materials.
Level of Work
This position oversees general housekeeping and maintenance of the production work areas, including stacking used skids and end boards, maintaining corrugated Gaylords for recycling, organizing and maintaining recycling program, and ensuring upkeep of tow motor operation, water levels, charging, and notifying team leader if service is required. This position is also responsible for bailer operation in support of the recycling program.
Job Dimensions
This position works with production and shipping personnel to ensure that orders can be completed in a timely manner, works alongside other employees to ensure a safe work environment, and assists in packaging as needed, in particular, large sheets. This individual also completes other assignments as required by the production team leader.
Essential Job Functions
Primary Responsibilities
- Transports materials and completes prep-work (i.e. cut cores, un-pack materials and prep for slitting, to support slitting operations to maintain an on-time schedule. Consistently setting up the next job and assists in setting up of the slitter for daily operation.
- Transports incoming materials from shipping area to assigned locations.
- Transports all materials requested for any machine operator as needed, when able by prepping jobs. Open/prep of master rolls for transition to forklift.
- Transports and stores unused rolls from machine operators back into their proper locations.
- Transports various raw materials from receiving department to proper location in warehouse
- Delivers custom finished products from slitter to shipping.
- Empties dump hoppers and gaylords and operates the bailer for disposal of recyclable materials.
- Maintains materials in the proper locations in the warehouse and maintains a clean atmosphere in the warehouse.
- Works with outside vendor to dispose of skids as needed.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
The employee must possess the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and must be able to walk, balance, bend, carry, push, reach, sit and stand. Must also be able to stand and operate for up to 7 hours. The employee must be able to hear, see and communicate verbally to exchange information.
Education/License Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent
