The Talent Management and Experience (TMX) center of excellence (COE) is charged with unleashing the performance and potential of all GRAILers to do their best work in support of our mission. Our Global Talent Management & Experience team is a 3D billboard for our values, and focused on creating talent processes, practices, programs, and experiences that help all GRAILers grow and thrive.  


We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Associate Director of Talent Management and Experience to join our company. This is a critical role within the TMX team and will serve as a strategic partner, consultant, builder, and owner of all Talent Management priorities.  This includes strategies and progress aimed at getting, knowing, growing and flowing our talent across the organization. We believe a well-oiled talent management operating engine consists of effective, efficient, and integrated organization-wide processes and programs such as onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, talent reviews, career management, promotions, and succession planning. To be effective these processes must be integrated; designed with equity in mind; and be able to support growth, scale globally, and meet the needs of our hybrid and distributed workforce at GRAIL. While the work of talent management is not easy, it is essential at GRAIL because we want to have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time.


You will report to the Sr.Director/Head of Talent Management and Experience. This role will partner closely with the People leadership team, People Partners, and other stakeholders across the organization to lead talent management initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Build, and or update, and align talent management processes, systems and reporting (inclusive of workforce planning, talent reviews, promotions, etc) to ensure they are integrated with the organization’s strategic talent agenda.
  • Work with business and people leadership to evolve our end to end performance management process and system to drive consistency, equity and rigor of goal-setting, check ins, performance evaluations, and feedback practices.
  • In collaboration with senior leadership, finance, and Talent Acquisition, identify and implement improvements to how we execute workforce planning across the organization.
  • Work with senior leaders to design and implement succession planning and bench building strategies. Collaborate with leaders and managers to identify high-potential employees and create development plans to accelerate their growth and advance their careers.
  • Consult into the development and execution of employee training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Partner with other members of the TMX team to implement employee experiences and engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement to drive organizational performance.
  • Manage and leverage relationships with external vendors in the performance management, succession planning, and other related talent initiatives


Preferred Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in talent management, a deep understanding of HR practices, and the ability to effectively lead and drive change within a dynamic organization.

Education:  
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred. 

Experience:  
  • 8 years of experience in talent management, talent development, talent experience, or organizational development.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing talent management and organizational development strategies and initiatives. Previous experience working with senior leaders and executives to drive talent management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse workforce and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion across talent management processes.
  • Deep knowledge of the integrated talent management cycle, including processes and programs such as workforce planning, performance management, talent reviews, career development, succession planning, and education and training.

  • Strong consultative, diagnostic skills, and critical thinking/problem solving skills - can use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. 
  • Strong leadership skills – willingness and ability to lead, and offer opinions and direction to drive execution of talent management and experience solutions.
  • Possesses high sense of urgency - can operate effectively when there is ambiguity and progress forward with a bias for action 
  • Effective self-management and project management ability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to influence and empower at all levels within the organization 
  • Ability to effectively drive change management and communication strategies to various audiences for new programs and changes at all levels of the organization 
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, influence key stakeholders and build consensus around decision making and problem solving 
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of talent management.  Keen to implement innovative and best practices in the field of talent management.

The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $159K-$211K.  Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location.


Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
