What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer (LIMS) position at GRAIL?
GRAIL is a healthcare company whose mission is to detect cancer early, when it can be cured. GRAIL is focused on alleviating the global burden of cancer by developing pioneering technology to detect and identify multiple deadly cancer types early. The company is using the power of next-generation sequencing, population-scale clinical studies, and state-of-the-art computer science and data science to enhance the scientific understanding of cancer biology, and to develop its multi-cancer early detection blood test. GRAIL is headquartered in Menlo Park, CA with locations in Washington, D.C., North Carolina, and the United Kingdom. GRAIL, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Illumina, Inc. (NASDAQ:ILMN). For more information, please visit www.grail.com.
GRAIL processes patient blood samples in factory-like laboratories to detect cancer and will significantly expand its commercial operations both in the US and abroad over the coming years. As a consequence, engineering teams are tasked with building software and hardware to automate and streamline many processes in the lab.
GRAIL UK is building out its software teams in both the UK and US that will support these efforts. You will work as part of a full-stack team to design, develop and run systems that will run these industrial style laboratories. Your work will directly support the processing of GRAIL’s multi-cancer early detection blood test.
This position will be fully remote with the choice of visiting a co-working space in Manchester when desired and/or during planning sessions
