The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for full life cycle accounting to include a wide variety of finance-related tasks that are primarily associated with preparing financial records. The Sr. Accountant will utilize accounting principles to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. The will also maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization. Work location is remote in Maryland, US.
- Full cycle accounting to maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations to include pre-paid expenses, accruals, and other miscellaneous journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
- Full cycle processing of Accounts Receivable: prepare and reconcile government invoices to posting cash against billings.
- Full cycle processing of Accounts Payable (matching, coding, data entry, and payment), including vendor account analysis, 1099 and sales tax return preparation.
- Reconcile credit card statements, including matching receipts with charges.
- Process and audit expense reports in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Full cycle payroll processing using third party service provider (multi-state presence).
- Track, reconcile and report on fixed assets.
- Monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of the Monthly reporting package and departmental reports.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Unanet required.
- Experience using ADP Workforce Now.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Possess the following attributes: logical thinker, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Must be a US Citizen.
