Job Title: Billing Specialist
Location: Houma , LA
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
GIS is seeking a Billing Specialist with a minimum of 1 year BILLING experience to join our Accounting TEAM based out of our HOUMA, LA office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
· Maintain customer billing requirements and instructions
· Provide customer support as needed and requested
· Work with project managers and operations for accuracy of billing rates
· Work with GP specialist to resolve any issues with tickets in a timely fashion. Any issues that cannot be resolved are to be escalated to the AR manager
· Follow documented accounting policies and procedures with the support and guidance of AR manager
· Support the accounting team for any financial, bank, sales tax and/or any other type of audit
· Perform monthly evaluation of customer AR aging for cleanup and past due invoices.
· Escalate all issues and concerns to the AR manager
· Research and identify discrepancies on invoices before submitting to customer
· Make system corrections within your area to ensure clean accurate documentation is being passed on to the customer
· Practice internal controls set by VP of accounting and AR manager
· Review KPI reports weekly and work unbilled tickets as much as possible before next weekly meeting is to be held
· Cross trains staff on duties
· Consistently maintains a professional and courteous manner
· Willing to accept and perform other work as assigned when needed
· Prepares and reconciles various financial reports
· Reconciles and records receipts and incoming cash.
· Balances and creates journal entries for incoming cash for other GIS entities as needed
· Complete training courses as assigned

· High School diploma or work experience
· Microsoft Office
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred
