About This Position
Individual will be responsible for researching, contacting, and comparing a supplier’s capability and cost competitiveness. They will select the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost efficient to ensure that GRC is getting the best opportunity. The individual must have good business negotiation skills, knowledge of pricing trends, ability to analyze information and have technical knowledge. Additionally, the individual must be business savvy, critical thinking, information oriented, and possess good organization skills.

Responsibilities
- Amass component pricing and input into project comparison
- Create, send, and track component RFQ’s needed for potential new business
- Discover/Research potential suppliers in North America
- Identify, initiate, and manage cost savings opportunities
- Issues purchase orders for component tooling and services related to a project
- Maintain monthly reporting of department cost tracking
- Manage Supplier Minority Diversity for automotive and office furniture customers
- Review new components to identify potential manufacturing processes
- Supplier selection and negotiations within budgetary limitations
- Travel to customers, suppliers and venders as necessary
- Work closely with GRC Engineering, Design, Costing, Finance, and Quality departments
Skills
- Ability to read a blueprint
- Education in a business and/or technical related field, with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent
- Experience in automotive/manufacturing a plus
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets is required
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of ERP (Epicor- a plus), SharePoint, Internet software
- Knowledge of plastic resins a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Self-driven and organized
