Job Information:
- Grand Traverse Pavilions is seeking a Human Resources Director full-time, 40 hours per week, flexible schedule.
- Wage commensurate with experience.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Tasks:
- Lead labor negotiations and administer collective bargaining contracts.
- Develop/refine systems and strategies for recruiting, hiring, orientation and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for proper screening, interviewing, and hiring of applicants including criminal background checks, reference checks, and other such protocol are conducted as appropriate.
- Ensure new employee orientation in relation to personnel policy issues and coordinate the development of employee training programs.
- Counsel employees on the interpretation and application of personnel policies and procedures and contracts as required.
- Ensure the maintenance of employee files according to Joint Commission, other regulatory agencies, and organizational policy, keeping them “survey ready” at all times.
- Ensure initiation of performance appraisals and monitor for timely completion.
- Accountable for benefit selection, design, cost control and administration, including overseeing administration and plan design.
- Analyze data and prepare to ensure preparation accuracy and maintenance of all reports such as, but not limited to, insurance coverage, unemployment compensation, safety, governmental regulations, and personnel database.
- Ensure payroll compliance including oversight of payroll. Will complete quarterly reconciliations and W-2s.
- Risk management for workers’ compensation.
- Identify potential departmental problems and recommend solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in personnel or labor relations or five years experience in personnel and labor relations. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certifications, preferred.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical, research and problem solving skills
- Proficient in HRIS systems and payroll software
